DevOps for DevOps

By Uldis Karlovs-Karlovskis

Elevator Pitch

In this age of Digital Business, DevOps, as we know it, is becoming too slow. This talk looks back at visionary Kent Becks ideas on making-making and discusses what’s coming for DevOps in nearest years.

Description

DevOps has been around for some time now. During last 5 years we have observed how new DevOps tools become popular in a matter of few months, how new Digital projects become popular even faster. They typically all had some “DevOps” behind them. Although lately I see that DevOps as we know it can’t provide the speed what business needs. Trends like “Everthing to the left” and “Continuous Everything” requires a bigger speed. Let’s look back at theory of making-making by Kent Beck, how far we are now and what’s coming for DevOps world in next few years.
