Elevator Pitch
Recent advancements in LLMs have created numerous news articles claiming that “this new tool” will soon replace developers. In this talk I’ll discuss whether there is any truth to that, and will share some insights into what the future might look like as the AI coding assistants advance.
Description
In the last several years you could have seen a bunch of articles and blog posts about “this new AI tool” that is destined to replace developers any time soon. Does that mean it’s time for us to start thinking about career switch? Or, perhaps, those headlines are just the usual overexaggeration? As always, the truth is somewhere in the middle, and in this talk I’ll discuss the current state of things in the world of AI coding assistants and in what capacity they can (or can not) replace the developers now and in the future. I’ll finish of with providing the alternative view on the future of collaboration between the developers and AI
Notes
Hi! This talk is supposed to be more general (or beginner-friendly if you will), however I’ll also submit another similar talk which is more advanced and goes deeper into AI concepts (hopefully doing multiple submissions is ok), so you’d be able to choose what would be more relevant and suitable to the expected attendees and to the conference :) A bit about myself - I’m Head of ML/DevOps at Zencoder, have been working in ML for about ten years now. At Zencoder we develop the next generation of coding assistants, so I’m well versed in the topic of GenAI in general and its applications to coding in particular. In addition, I’ve been a speaker (including keynote speaker) on multiple international conferences and have received a lot of high appraisals from attendees both when talking with them in person post-talk and through Linkedin.
