Bio

Martin Christen is a lecturer in Geoinformatics and 3D Computer graphics at the Institute of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). He is also developing 3D geoinformation platforms such as virtual globes and interactive 3D maps. His main research interests are GPU-Programming, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Parallel Computing, and Terrain-Rendering. Martin Christen is very active in the Python community. He teaches various Python-related courses and uses Python in most research projects. He is the organiser of PyBasel - the local Python User Group Northwestern Switzerland. He also organises the yearly GeoPython conference. He is a board member of the Python Software Verband e.V. and the EuroPython Society.
