John Masinter is currently Sr. Mgr. of Software Engineering at Intel Corp. He has been working professionally in software engineering since 1983. He began his career by writing assembly language programs for the Zilog Z80 CPU, followed by C programs on the CP/M operating system. For the past seven years he has led the development of McAfee Linux OS, which is the platform of many of Intel’s enterprise security products. His path to Intel includes the acquisition sequence of McAfee, Secure Computing, and CipherTrust. His focus of interest is sustainable software engineering. In other words, developing applications in a style that allows for ease of maintenance by the current and the future maintainers.
