Infrastructure As Code (IaC) for the NON-Developer!

By Richard Taylor

Elevator Pitch

Come to this session to learn: – How to automate an entire infrastructure (servers, networks, etc) from a single pane of glass – Make changes to infrastructure by simply editing a line in a text file – Take the fear of the word “CODE” or “DEVELOP” away and embrace it.

Description

IaC– entails defining environments, including networks, servers, and other compute resources, as a text file (script or definition) that is checked into version control and used as the base source for creating or updating those environments.

Come to this session to learn: – How to automate an entire infrastructure (servers, networks, etc) from a single pane of glass

– Make changes to infrastructure by simply editing a line in a text file

– Take the fear of the word “CODE” or “DEVELOP” away and embrace it.

This session is intended for those attendees who are ITPros, Admins, Operations, and NOT Developers (you are still welcome to attend)

Notes

I’ve been in Operations almost my whole career. I’ve worked for some of the largest consulting orgs out there and this subject is near and dear to my heart. I’ve spoken about this on the podast RunAsRadio, as well. I have never presented at DevOps Days, but I have presented at all three of the PowerShell Conference (US, EUR, Asia)
