Bio
I started heavily using Rust in November 2023, and haven’t stopped ever since. Always looking for ways to learn through direct action, my two proudest achievements with this programming language are:
- The Google Summer of Code project with the Rust Foundation, with the help (and tireless code reviews!) of my esteemed mentor Jieyou Xu.
- The program that won me the biggest Québec Computer Science competition in the Operating Systems category, a server which receives packets from a file crawler, parses their hexadecimal data and writes files into the target OS, with a strong focus on robust error handling - as not all packets are guaranteed to be without errors!
I am currently busy on writing a quick-start guide for Bevy, which might hopefully become part of its official documentation once it is finished and polished!
In terms of raw life achievement, I will be holding a Bachelors of Bioinformatics from Concordia University (Canada) in May, if everything goes according to plan! Always indecisive on whether I’d spend my working life in the wilderness or at a desk, I’ve held some odd jobs, from working in an experimental fur tanning laboratory and an entomology lab where I had to count aphids for hours on end.
