Uche is a Certified Chief Information Security Officer (CCISO) with over 20 years of experience in the oil, consulting, and financial industries. Her expertise lies in Information Security Governance, Risk and Compliance, Cyber Security, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery Management, Technology Regulatory and Compliance Management, Agile and Traditional Project Management, and Process Improvement. Uche is passionate about helping organisations stay secure and resilient in and outside their operating environment by creating a crisis-resilient culture and making intelligent decisions on protecting information assets through effective technology and cyber risk management.
She serves as the principal manager of information security programs at the Central Bank of Nigeria. In this role, she analyses the bank’s security needs and designs initiatives to implement its information security strategy. In addition, she coordinates security program efforts to improve the Bank’s information security capability and the maturity level of its security processes. Before this, she was a Senior Manager of Information Technology Risk and Compliance at the Central Bank. Currently, Uche is on secondment as a pioneer staff member to the Nigeria Financial Industry CERT (NFICERT), where she designed and implemented the operating structure, technology, processes, and workforce requirements for the initial startup of the Nigeria Financial Industry CERT’s Threat Intelligence Center. She leads the efforts of the threat intelligence teams to identify cyber trends and threat landscapes within Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.
She has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a master’s degree in computing and Control Engineering. Moreover, she has obtained several professional certifications in various fields, including Managing Information Risk, Governance of Enterprise IT, Project Management, Information System Audit, Information Security, and Quality Management. These certifications keep her up to date with the latest trends and practices in Information technology and Cyber security.
