Interact with World-Class Geeks
This conference is intended to share with the developer community the benefits I have attained from becoming a podcaster and connecting with the wonderful humans I have featured on the show. It’s about connection and working toward a better experience for the people creating software and the people using it. It is intended to include sessions from influential developers and/or developers with a positive message for developers.
From the Comfort of Your Home
It is a Developer On Fire mantra that “comfort is the enemy of growth,” but that relates to pushing boundaries in your life and your career, not that everything has to be about discomfort. You can choose where you are physically while you attend the conference virtually. Interactions will be done via consuming pre-recorded video, participating in text and video chat, and consuming video via live stream.
CFP Description
Developer On Fire Remote Conference
This conference is intended to share with the developer community the benefits I have attained from becoming a podcaster and connecting with the wonderful humans I have featured on the show. It’s about connection and working toward a better experience for the people creating software and the people using it. It is intended to include sessions from influential developers and/or developers with a positive message for developers.
Topics Sought
Do you have expertise and experiences to share in the realms of soft skills, philosophy applied to programming, enhancing your career, making the most of your precious time, or other topics related to developer and user experience? Do you have advice on how to make the most of a career in software or how to move forward when you’re stuck? Please submit your topic.
Protocol
This is a remote conference and speaker sessions will be pre-recorded. Sessions can be between 25 and 60 minutes. There will also be a live question-and-answer session at the event to which speakers will commit. There will be options for alternatives to pre-recorded sessions with a Q&A session, including panel discussions. If you have other ideas, please submit them for evaluation. Pre-recorded video will be edited by Developer On Fire and will belong to Developer On Fire and made available only on the terms of Developer On Fire.
Timeline
This call for papers will close November 5, 2017 and all accepted speakers will be notified that week of their acceptance. Delivery expectations for pre-recorded video will be communicated at that time.
A Word on Diversity
The Developer On Fire Remote Conference discriminates speaker selection only on the basis of utility for attendees of the material presented and not on race, religion, gender, sexuality, political or philosophical ideology, preferred technology stack, or any other irrelevant group membership or matter. Any and all are welcome and encouraged to submit proposals.
