Our code of conduct

The Python community thrives on openness, collaboration, and respect. This code of conduct outlines our commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone at Python Conference Austria, regardless of age, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, ethnicity, nationality, race, religion (or lack thereof), education, or socio-economic status.

Our Standards

• Be respectful: Treat everyone with courtesy and kindness. This includes avoiding discriminatory or offensive language and behavior.
• Be professional: Maintain a professional demeanor in all conference venues, including talks, workshops, social events, and online interactions.
• Be inclusive: We encourage participation from all backgrounds and experience levels.
• Be considerate: Be mindful of others. This includes being attentive during presentations, avoiding disruptive noises, and respecting personal space.
• Be collaborative: Foster a spirit of collaboration and openness to new ideas.

Unacceptable Behavior

We will not tolerate harassment or other behavior that disrupts the positive atmosphere of the conference. Examples include:

• Harassment: This includes any unwelcome verbal, nonverbal, or physical conduct based on a person’s protected characteristic. Examples include offensive jokes, insults, intimidation, stalking, and unwelcome sexual advances.
• Discrimination: Treating someone differently based on a protected characteristic.
• Disruptive behavior: This includes excessive talking, loud noises, and interfering with presentations or workshops.
• Violence or threats: We have zero tolerance for violence or threats of violence.

Reporting

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it to a Python Conference Austria staff member immediately. We will investigate the incident and take appropriate action. Reports can be made anonymously.

Enforcement

We reserve the right to take any action deemed necessary to maintain a safe and inclusive environment, including but not limited to removal from the conference without warning.
