Topics of Interest
If you’re a passionate individual who has a story to tell or learned something amazing that you’d like to share, please submit your proposal to be considered. Despite the name MKE DOT NET, we are not limited to only .NET presentations.
Talks are 50-minute blocks, including time for Q&A. This year, we’re also introducing short-form talks, an additional track dedicated to short presentations of no more than 15 minutes.
We’re looking for talks on anything that may be interesting to developers, designers, programmers, team leads and others. Below is a list of topics that have been asked for from our attendees:
- .NET development
- Web development (JavaScript, front-end development, CSS, etc.)
- The business of development (process, sales, recruiting, etc.)
- SQL server
- Cloud platforms
- DevOps
- Mobile
- Design and user experience
- Soft skills
- IoT
- VR
- AI
Speaker Selection
As the committee reviews submissions, we will be looking for sessions that:
- Illustrate the speaker’s depth of knowledge or hands-on experience with the subject matter.
- Inspire or educate attendees in interesting ways.
- Explore new and emerging ideas or review the basics.
- Are presented in visually clear and compelling ways by well-spoken presenters.
We’re looking for a good mix of speakers, and we encourage everyone to submit a proposal. When reviewing submissions, sessions are anonymized by removing all information about the speaker (name, bio, email, etc.). Please refrain from using identifying information in your titles, abstracts, descriptions and notes to the committee.
After the submission deadline, the speaker committee will review all of the submissions and select the ones that best fit the conference.
If You’re Selected
All speakers will receive a free ticket to the conference.
Speakers are invited to attend a dinner the night before MKE DOT NET, on September 8th, 2017. This is a great chance to get to know the other speakers. Time and location will be announced at a later date.
We are happy to talk about covering travel and accommodation expenses, but we are a small conference so this will be needs-based. Please reach out to the organizers via the Notes field to discuss.
