All attendees, speakers, sponsors and volunteers at our conference are required to agree with the following code of conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We are expecting cooperation from all participants to help ensuring a safe environment for everybody.
LSPUG and NateChamberlain.com are committed to providing safe, harassment-free educational and community experiences for all, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. To help achieve this, we’ve established the following guidelines for participation in our events and online communities. By attending our events and using our online community resources, you agree to abide by these rules.
Appropriate conduct
Be kind. Do not insult, provoke, or belittle other commenters, attendees, or speakers. We reserve the right to remove posts or suspend attendees that discourage civil and productive dialogue, or violate these rules.
Check your exclusive jokes at the door. Sexist, racist, ageist, religious, and other exclusionary jokes can be offensive to those around you and are inappropriate for our online and in-person communities of learning. Excessive swearing and offensive jokes are not appropriate for our venues.
Be considerate. If your behavior unreasonably interferes with another person’s ability to enjoy and participate in our events or discussions, it’s considered prohibited.
The whole family is welcome. Any “plus one” guests’ behavior should be consistent with the rest of the audience.
Put it on silent. If using an electronic device during an event or meeting, please place it on silent or make sure your speakers are muted to avoid unnecessary disruption to others.
Stay tidy. Waste and recycling should be disposed of properly. We are graciously hosted free of charge by our hosting venues, and strive to maintain a high level of cleanliness and responsibility as guests in their spaces. Please help keep the rooms clean.
Leave the flask at home. LSPUG events, with the exception of any dedicated “happy hour” events, are alcohol free events. We have zero tolerance for alcohol use. Smoking is NOT allowed inside or near any event buildings and their entrances.
Attendees violating these rules may be asked to leave events or will be blocked from online participation at the sole discretion of the event organizers.
Reporting poor conduct
Persons who are the targets of, or witnesses to, hostile or harassing conduct should contact event staff on site, or email conduct@natechamberlain.com.
Reports of hostile or harassing conduct will be promptly addressed through appropriate channels. Thank you for helping make our events and content welcoming and inclusive for all.
