Kansas City Java User Group (KCJUG) is a community hosted event series geared for Java developers. We generally meet on the third Thursday of every month. Our events start at 5:30 p.m. in US/Central (America/Chicago) time zone. We provide a community for Java developers of various breadth and depth of knowledge in Kansas City to learn about the features and capabilities of Java and Java-related languages, libraries, tools, and products. Our community is also open to talks which discuss general patterns and practices, so long as they are applicable to Java developers. We would prefer talks which target a 45-90 minute length, but are open to talks of all lengths.
CFP Description
KCJUG is open to all topics related to Java and JVM languages. If you know about hidden gems in the JDK or Jakarta EE spec, a new framework that runs on the JRE, a Java library that has helped solve a big problem, or some cool features of a JVM-targeting language like Kotlin or Groovy, we’d love to be a forum to share this information with our community!
We will also accept talks focused on general practice which would be applicable to Java developers, but would prioritize Java-specific topics.
Though we welcome corporate-sponsored talks and speakers, our meetup is aimed toward developers that want to see functionality and application of Java rather than sales pitches.
